What's New In Our Church?

We are quickly coming up on the holidays. We will start with Thanksgiving which is the perfect time to thank the Lord for everything He has given to us and continues to provide in our lives.

Following right behind Thanksgiving we have Christmas and New Years which we celebrate with our annual Christmas program. All are welcome to join us for worship with songs, plays, and other forms of rememberance. View our calendar to find out the exact dates and times.

Our Community

The Emmanuel congregation traces its origin to the 1870's in Scandinavian Districts of the Central Illinois Conference. The Asian ministry began in 1977 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John Rathod, who started the Gujarati language services. He was joined by the Hindi language fellowship in 1978, under the direction of Rev. Isaac Cornelius.

Today we have a vibrant church with over two hundred members who come to worship at Emmanuel from all over the Chicago-land area.

About Our Pastor

Our present pastor, Rev. Timothy Rathod, was appointed senior pastor at Emmanuel in 1997. He, being a polyglot (someone who uses many languages), leads worship services in three languages: Hindi, Gujarati, and English. Under his diligent and nurturing leadership, the Emmanuel congregation continues to grow and flourish.
